Klipsch hand-built Heritage speakers make a comeback
Naveen | Jun 6 2009

The Klipsch Heritage series of hand-built, horn-loaded speakers is now making its way back to the UK. Originally introduced in 1946 by Klipsch, the Heritage range includes four speakers. Leading the series is the Klipschorn, which is a fully horn-loaded, full range, three-way speaker system. Weighing in at 80kg, the flagship model stands 1.28 meters high, and features a 1-inch tweeter, 2-inch midrange driver and a 15-inch fiber-composite woofer delivering sensitivity of 105dB. Next in the range is the La Scalla II, which was originally launched as a PA speaker for an Arkansas politician. The third in the Heritage range is the three-way Cornwall III speaker, which boasts a sensitivity that matches fully horn-loaded cabinets. It includes a riser base that helps lift it up from the floor. The cheapest model in the series is the Heresy III that enjoys a powerful woofer, bi-wire network, diaphragm-equipped tweeter, midrange drivers and a removable slant riser. The pricing for the Klipschorn, La Scala, Cornwall III and the Heresy III sits at around $9,500, $5,450, $2,700 and $1,350 respectively.
